Today kicks off the annual CGSA dues drive! For $15 (that’s about $0.04 a day!), you can become a dues-paying member of CGSA and help support our graduate community! Dues also enable you to become a voting member of CGSA.

Here’s what your CGSA dues are used for:
Travel Grants
Fall Orientation Buddy Lunch
Halloween Party
Purdue Graduate Student Conference on Communication Research

You can give dues (cash/check) to a CGSA board member or place it in the envelope marked “CGSA Dues” in the front office.

Congratulations to our new VP of Professional Development: Natasha Brown!

Note: Since a board member resigned from this position, the below excerpt from the constitution details how this special election was held. As Natasha was the only nominee for this position, she has been immediately appointed to the board.

“Section 7 – In the event that a CGSA board member should resign from their office, a replacement will be sought. The position will be advertised and self nominations will be solicited. CGSA will collect the nominations and an election by secret ballot will follow. If there is only one self-nomination, that person will immediately be appointed to the board.”
